I want to share a trick I learned that will immediately increase your responses to your ads.
I remember exactly when and where I learned about this and if you really grasp what I’m about to tell you…….
I think it will stay with you forever as well.
ONE THING AT A TIME
Every ad, every piece of sales copy…. has one primary objective.
If you think about it, any action primarily contributes to accomplishing one goal at a time.
All the other things it could do doesn't matter, does it?
The goal of a sales call is to close the sale. The goal of an ad is to get a response.
Every step has to have a clear end goal from the start.
Most people mess up by thinking that an ad has to inform, build a brand, and make the sale all at the same time. NO.
It can only do one thing at a time. If we need sales, we do what sells.
We don't do what doesn’t sell.
If we follow this we can then measure it precisely and make adjustments to avoid confusing people.
A confused customer does nothing. We want them to do something.
CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS
Right now whatever you’re thinking in terms of advertising or sales, you’re probably confusing prospects without even realizing it.
We need them to be clear on what they’re supposed to do. And that’s your job as a marketer to give clear instructions.
People get confused easily. It’s up to you to make it hard for them to get confused.
Make it easy for them to say yes. Convey exactly what they have to do.
While considering actions for them to take, put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself,
Is this confusing?
Is this too high of a threshold?
Am I asking too much?
Am I trying to do multiple things at the same time?
Have I made it too hard for them?
Analyze these questions and make it easier for them.
If you have ever given instructions to someone, you may have noticed that people are good at following simple instructions, but not so good at following more complex ones.
Always strive to make things simpler. People prefer simplicity and are better at following straightforward instructions.
In advertising, the simpler you make things, the better your results. Something to think about.
